Hi Everyone

We had 16 teams competing at the Shaw Baton Relay on Saturday.  We had four teams placing.  Junior Men had a well-run 2nd placing, while the Junior Women, U12 Boys, and Masters Men 50+ had 3rd placings.  This coming Saturday we are back at the clubrooms for a Club day.

The following Saturday is our second interclub Relay race, the University Relay.

UNIVERSITY RELAY, QEII Park, McKays Crossing, Paekakariki – Saturday 9 May

You are required to let your selector know if you wish to compete in this relay.  If you have not already done so, please do so as soon as possible.

There are 3 events:

1:  The Whittaker’s Chocolate Walk – open to walkers of all ages.  Starts at 12 noon on the road in front of the field where the relay is held.  Distance is approx 6km. $2 entry will be collected at the start of the race.

2:  The Youngster’s Races:
1.30pm    B/G 9 years and under – approx 1.2km
1.50pm    B/G 11 years and under – approx 2km
2.10:m     B/G 13 years and under – approx 2km

3:  The University Relay: approx 3.5km laps – 6 grades all start together at 2.45pm
Junior Men/Women (U20), Open Men/Women, Masters Men 40+, Masters Women, and Open Masters 50+.
All relay teams comprise of 4 persons.

REGISTRATION/PAYMENT

You can go to our website to fill in a registration form and send it to: treasurer@hvh.org.nz , or you can fill one in at the Club.  You can also pay your subs on Saturday, or online.  Go to our website for more details on this:  http://hvh.org.nz/membership/   We also have club singlets available to purchase on clubdays.  We would ask that at least part payment is made prior to racing the next interclub, with full payment to be made by the end of May.

Sat 9 May      University Relays, QEII Park, Paekakariki – Clubrooms open (no crèche)
Sat 16 May    Club run – 1.30pm (creche available)
Sat 23 May     Vosseler Shield, Mt Victoria – Clubrooms open (no crèche)
Sat 30 May      Club run (Creche available)

This site is intended to complement the official website, and is available for members to share photos, favourite runs, and other information on running and walking. THURSDAY NIGHT SHOE CLINIC RUN

For those who want to enjoy a relaxed hour long run, you are welcome to join Steve Robertson (Deputy Club Captain) who leads a pack run from the Lower Hutt Shoe Clinic at 6pm every Thursday evening. The packs go out for around an hour. Please meet at the Shoe Clinic, High Street, Lower Hutt by 5.55pm.

The Shoe Clinic has once again confirmed that it will continue to sponsor HVH for yet another year. For every dollar members spend on product at the Lower Hutt Shoe Clinic, the Shoe Clinic will donate 10% back to HVH at the end of the year. All you have to do is tell Rob and staff that you are a member of HVH and they will record your purchase to ensure it contributes to a donation for the club.

The Mad Butcher

The Lower Hutt Mad Butcher has once again agreed to support our club by providing sausages for our club run day barbeques. We appreciate the support the Mad Butcher gives us and ask members to return this support by considering purchasing your meat produce from the Lower Hutt Mad Butcher.
