This weekend 15 junior Hutt Valley Harriers headed off to Camp Elsdon in Porirua for a couple of days of fun and running.
With our club captain, Paul Strickland, leading the organisation, an intrepid team of young harriers and adult supporters enjoyed some great weather, fun activities and two great runs over two days.
After some warm-up drills at the camp,
the first run saw the team climb the heights of Colonial Knob with a 300m+ winding climb to glorious views from the top
The way down was shorter and steeper, but everyone made it in time for a trip to the pool before pizza and chips and a movie.
Sunday’s run was a scenic coastal route around Whitireia Park, from Transmitter Street, following the coast to Onepoto park. We finished the weekend with sport and a sausage sizzle in the park:
