This year HVH celebrates it’s 90th anniversary. It was fitting then that Olympic Harriers who helped establish our club in 1923 joined us this year for a club run. After the pack runs, club president Tony McKone paid tribute to Neil Craig and Tom Hurly (former Olympic Harrier members) who set up HVH with the assistance of Olympic in 1923.
In keeping with the annual tradition, Tony McKone then presented Mark Handley (Olympic Club President) with the Jack Perston trophy, which symbolises the close relationship between our two clubs and entrusted the trophy to Olympic Harriers for the next 12 months.
To commemorate the occasion Tony called upon Olympic Harriers Club President Mark Handley and HVH Club Captain Julia Baron to cut a 90th Anniversary cake before afternoon tea.
A good group of HVH and Olympic Harriers then enjoyed the afternoon socialising over the afternoon tea.
